iPromise Pilot: Through A Child’s Eyes

 

Through A Child's Eyes is the pilot for the iPromise public education program to guage how people respond to our messaging and social media campaign. The video was created by an NYU student and promoted through a collaboration with Northeastern University's Experiential Network Program.

 

 


National VIP Book Launch & Reception

On May 20, 2014 a host committee of Washington notables, including Kathleen Biden, Patty Daley, Linda Daschle, Ben Jealous, Ann Davison, Linda Dooley, Kelley McCormick, Kimball Stroud, Sarah Guinan Nixon, and Kathleen Guinan gathered with political, media, literary, corporate and philanthropic leaders at a VIP reception to celebrate the launch of L.Y. Marlow's second book, A Life Apart--the story of a decades long interracial love affair set against the backdrop of World War II, the Civil Rights era and present day. Guests also learned about Saving Promise for which a portion of the book proceeds were donated. View More.

 


Teen Dating Violence Awareness Initiative

During Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month this February, L.Y. Marlow, Founder of Saving Promise, and Robyn E. Brickel, M.A., LMFT, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Director of Robyn E. Brickel, M.A., LMFT, LLC, are teaming up to help inform parents about dating violence.

 

iPromise at American University

Saving Promise partnered with a group of talented students at American University to launch a prototype of the iPromise call to action on AU’s campus to raise awareness about dating violence and engage students, faculty and friends in the promise for change. This initiative served as the initial phase to help develop a national dating violence prevention model to be implemented on college campuses across the country.

 


Congress Invited to Saving Promise Briefing

Saving Promise Founder and CEO L.Y. Marlow visited Capitol Hill on May 23 to invite congressional members and staffers to a Saving Promise briefing. L.Y. Marlow will present the Saving Promise story and vision to launch a National Call to Action.

 


"Casting Legacy: A Promise for Change" 2012 Gala

Phi Gamma Gamma, a Christian Service Fraternity, held their 2012 Gala, titled “Casting Legacy…A Promise for Change” to benefit Saving Promise on January 28, 2012 at The Women’s Club of Bethesda.

 

 


Sisarina Holiday Event

Many thanks to Sisarina for featuring Saving Promise at its annual holiday event. They generously opened their hearts and their headquarters to Saving Promise for their final #DCTweetup of the year! Guests were able to enjoy great wine, delicious food catered by Tasteful Flavors by Manuel, and fantastic people, and also learn more about Saving Promise.

 


Sauciety Eat, Drink and Donate

Thanks so much to everyone who came out to Sauciety American Grill on Thursday October 27th! Saving Promise teamed up with Sauciety American Grill at the National Harbor for an evening to honor Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The evening was filled with an exclusive dinner tasting prepared by Executive Chef Will Moore, great camaraderie, extraordinary music and thoughts of the importance of domestic violence awareness!

A Cupcake to Save Promise

Saving Promise, in partnership with Magnolia Bakery, hosted its first celebrity charity event—A Cupcake to Save Promise—to raise awareness about domestic violence and create a unique opportunity for local community members to support our movement.

Saving Promise "Gotta Talk About It" National Tour

Beginning in September through November 2010, Saving Promise toured 10 select cities in its pilot Saving Promise "Gotta Talk About It" National Tour. The tour aimed to meet people where they are, on their terms, and inspire local communities to raise awareness about domestic violence.
